News of Pat Mills

A correspondent in Canada writes to say that the Gosport light-weight, Pat Mills, is making good headway in Buffalo, New York.  Having polished off two well-known men of the district in Teddy Meyers and Harry Cook (the Buffalo champion) he is now matched to meet Luke Carr and by the time these notes appear in print the pair will have decided their issue.  Mills has evidently made quite an impression in this part.

The "Buffalo Courier" says:  "Mills, who made such a pronounced hit with local fans in his recent bouts in which he decisively erased Teddy Meyers (the Polish champion) and Harry Cook  (the dymamic ...) has aspirations for a bout with Rocky Kansas, and plans to use Carr as a stepping-stone towards accomplishing this end.  Carr's friends have been very keen for him to get a chance at the boy from the ould soil, arguing that ... with his great strength, will be able to improve on the showing of Meyers and Cook against the same opponent.

However, Mills has shown remarkable boxing ability in his two starts here, and it would appear that Carr is in for a mighty tough night of it, if the fighting Irishman displays the same form as was in evidence against Meyers and Cook."
