1949 programme

Forum Cinema in Gosport, Hampshire

Stoke House, on the corner of Stoke Road at the junction with
Shaftesbury Road, was demolished in the thirties to make way for the
Forum Cinema.

The plush picture house closed in the 1950s and the building became
Aldridge & Riddle's car showroom, garage and petrol station.

The building and the houses on its west side were demolished in the 1970s
to make way for retail development. 
Waitrose has been on the site since day one.

Waitrose opened on 17 July 1973
